EVA Radio Logo

The EVA Radio Team will be talking about (former…) Devon industries again this week, in particular Tuckenhay Mill and the creation of hand-made rag paper for use in fine printing and publishing (and for use in banknotes).  Michael will be looking into the rituals and celebrations surrounding Lent and Easter.  And there will be a discussion about the past 11+ months of EVA Radio:   from the formation of the group, to the development of the programme, to the difference it …

EVA Lifestory Boxes

EVA Lifestory Box preliminary drawing by Norman Pink

Project participants in Babbacombe, Bovey Tracey and Totnes have just about completed the designs and gathered together or created all the materials for inclusion in their Life Story Boxes.   The participants’ creative responses to the project have been supported by  project artist Kate Green and EVA Creative Producer Jennie Hayes.  The collected materials are being displayed in each individual’s selected ‘box’ (suitcases, sewing boxes, antique chests, multi-drawered containers, vanity cases, etc.) and being turned into multi-media works of art …

EVA Radio Logo

Tune in this week for a live discussion on a range of topics with the Creative Producers Team on EVA Radio.  Joy will be speaking about a recent trip to Egypt — which is bound to remind Norman of his experiences there and lead to some very interesting stories and observations.  As always the programme will include music and poetry along with a mix of fun and serious discussion.

Listen live on-air at 102.5fm (Dartington/Totnes area) or on-line at Soundart …

EVA Commission Artists’ Podcasts Available

EVA Artist Commissions Logo

The sound works made by the four artists commissioned for part of the EVA project are available on the AHA website for you to download (free).  Artists Jan Blake, David Kemp, Elsepth Owen and Karen Wallis had never created sound works before EVA and they all worked in very different media, in very different ways from one another.  The podcasts are as diverse as the artists.  Go here for more information about the project and to download the podcasts.

EVA Radio Show 14 February

EVA Radio Logo

If you missed Programme 9 back in August, then tune in this week as it’s being re-broadcast — the discussions and information focus on what it means to be a ‘carer’.

Last summer EVA Producer Carolyn Pink was out and about with a portable sound recorder and interviewed Bryan Hartley from Totnes Memory Cafe and Rob Summers from Devon Carers.  Carolyn also talks about Singing for the Brain, the work of the Altzheimer’s Society and provides information she received at a course she …

Tune in on Thursday (7 February) to hear something unusual for any radio programme –– a live evaluation of the programme by an independent consultant.   Rachel Litherland of Innovations in Dementia has been following the development of EVA Radio, as well as the other strands of the EVA project, in order to help AHA evaluate their effectiveness.

The entire EVA Producers Team will be taking part in this evaluation …
