Aune Head Arts has been making creative projects in and about rural England for more than sixteen years, with a particular focus on Dartmoor and the Southwest. During that time we have worked with artists and communities across the UK as well as working within the worlds of broadcast radio and the internet.

News/Images of Quiet Walk #2 — Book Walks on 26 & 28 April

Places are going fast on AHA’s next two walks, if you’re hoping to come please book soonest to ensure your place on two these two very different walks.

Quiet Walk #1:  Friday, 26 April,  1930 to 2000, Bellever Forest.  Leader:  sound artist/naturalist Tony Whitehead.   This evening walk begins before sundown and finishes as the moon rises over the moor.  Tony will identify the various bird songs heard, along with information about habits and habitat.    For further details …

Next First Friday is May 3 with Hilary Burns

Due to the timing of the Easter Holiday there is no First Friday in April this year.  However, the May First Friday (May 3) will make up for the loss with a talk by guest artist Hilary Burns.

EVA Lifestory Boxes

Project participants in Babbacombe, Bovey Tracey and Totnes have just about completed the designs and gathered together or created all the materials for inclusion in their Life Story Boxes.   The participants’ creative responses to the project have been supported by  project artist Kate Green and EVA Creative Producer Jennie Hayes.  The collected materials are being displayed in each individual’s selected ‘box’ (suitcases, sewing boxes, antique chests, multi-drawered containers, vanity cases, etc.) and being turned into multi-media works of art …

Time is running out to book your place on Sunday’s Quiet Walk #2 with sound artist Tony Whitehead.  

Sunday, 24 March, 0530 to 0900, Newbridge, Dartmoor.

While participation in this walk requires a rather hefty commitment in terms of setting one’s alarm clock very very early — it will be worth it — Tony and Dartmoor will both have failed if you don’t finish the walk being incredibly glad you made the effort!
